Welcome to the website of the MEcon Program!

The MEcon (Master of Economics) Program was established in the Department of Japanese and Asian Studies, the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saitama University in 2015. This program can be completed entirely in English. We welcome students from around the world!

The MEcon program is suitable for those who want to study economics and management with specific focus on the Japanese and Asian experiences. All of the professors teaching in this program are specialists in economics, business management and various aspects of society. They are professional intellectuals in their specialized research areas, and have in-depth knowledge of the practical issues in economics, business management and social development in Japan and Asia. In addition, the program is composed not only of Japanese professors, but also international professors from Korea, Thailand, UK, Germany and Finland. Therefore, the program offers global insight and discussion on the Japanese and Asian economy, business and society from various international viewpoints. This diversified perspective is valuable for students, who who are encouraged to think flexibly about economics, business and social development, which should enable them to be adaptable and resilient when facing the changing situations and challenges.

The MEcon Program of Saitama University will provide all support that will be necessary for overseas students to study successfully in Japan.
